As of May 13, 2011, the French Market Corporation no longer permits use of amplification throughout the French Market District. During special events and organized performance times and in specifically designated venues, amplification may be permitted. Approval for use of amplification is up to the discretion of the French Market Corporation.

Commercial Real Estate Appraisal 2024

 At the July 26, 2023 Board of Directors meeting, FMC Board of Director authorized FMC Executive Director to enter into a contract with The McEnery Company to provide a real estate appraisal for the commercial properties under FMC’s management. Those properties include:

  • Upper Pontalba Building – Ground Floor Commercial Units
  • Oscar Dunn – Commercial Units
  • Colonnade Building A
  • Colonnade Building B
  • Colonnade Building C
  • Colonnade Building D
  • Colonnade Building E
  • Farmers and Flea Markets
  • Musical Legends Park

The McEnery Group has presented FMC Staff with the attached Draft Appraisal Report for our review. The Staff has reviewed the document and made preliminary comments.

Following the McEnery Company’s presentation of the information included in the Draft Appraisal Report, FMC Staff requests authorization to post the Draft Appraisal Report on the FMC’s website.
Further, the Staff requests the Committee defer consideration of the Draft Appraisal Report until the next scheduled Real Estate Committee meeting to allow interested parties time to review the draft report in advance of consideration at the next Committee meeting

French Market Corporation Competitive Selection Procedure for Contractual Professional Services

The French Market Corporation (“FMC”) seeks proposals for qualifications from licensed Real Estate Appraisers that meet the minimum criteria described below. The Appraiser will provide a Fair Market Rental Rate Study of FMC managed commercial leasable units and related services. As provided below, and incident to City Charter Section 6-308(5), Executive Order LC 20-01, and FMC’s Competitive Selection Procedure for Contractual Professional Services, the FMC requests qualifications from experienced firms to provide the needed services.

Real Estate Appraiser RFQ

The French Market Corporation (FMC) seeks proposals from an independent Certified Public Accountant to perform audit services for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2023 with the option of auditing the FMC’s financial statements for the five (5) subsequent fiscal years at FMC’s discretion and provide accounting services on an as-needed basis. The selected firm will audit the financial statements and express an opinion in accordance with audit standards generally accepted in the United States of America and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. The selected firm will also perform agreed-upon procedures as required by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor. In accordance with the Internal Controls of the FMC, it requests proposals from independent, Yellow Book qualified, experienced CPA firms to provide the needed services. As provided below, and incident to City Charter Section 6-308(5), Executive Order LC 20-01, and FMC’s Competitive Selection Procedure for Contractual Professional Services, the FMC requests qualifications from experienced firms to provide the needed services.
