Rentals – French Market District

The French Market District offers a variety of commercial properties for lease. Commercial properties include the Shops of the Colonnade, the Shops at the Upper Pontalba, and Farmers and Flea Markets.

Additionally the French Market District also offers venue rentals for private events, film productions, and photography.

The Shops of the Colonnade & The Shops at the Upper Pontalba

At this time there is no commercial space available in the Shops of the Colonnade or a the Shops of the Upper Pontalba. When space does become available the information will be posted the Public Notice page.


Farmers Market

***Currently we are not accepting applications for Farmers Market (food) ***

The Farmers Market has opportunities for the following vendors:

-Fresh produce, flowers, and raw agricultural products

-Other locally produces food items

Flea Market Vendor Applications

**We are accepting new vendor applications for the Flea Market (merchandise)***

Are you interested in the Flea Market as a possible site for your business venture?  Applications for vending in the Flea Market will be accepted Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Flea Market office, 1235 N. Peters Street.  No appointments needed.

Each application is reviewed by 2 committees before a decision is made, this process takes at least 2 – 4 weeks.

  • Applicants must bring their product samples to have photos taken of merchandise.
  • Applicants must fill out application in person.
  • Applicant must present a valid government issued, pictured i.d.
  • Application fee if $5.00

Vendor Committee Meeting

The Vendor Committee Review Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month for one hour.  Applicant need not be present.

  • Start time: 4:30pm. 
  • Location: In front the Flea Market Office (outdoors). 
  • Date: Tuesday, December 14, 2021. 

The Vendor Committee Meetings (immediately following Review Meetings) are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month for one hour.  Vendors are encouraged to attend.

Special Event Rentals

The French Market District offers indoor/outdoor special event venues available for large and small private events. As each event is unique, we request that you fill out an application to begin the process. Please complete the digital French Market Event Application. Upon receipt of your completed application our event team will contact you within (7) business days.  Events must be booked no less than 90 days in advance, no exceptions.

Please note: Submission of the application does not confirm use of requested spaces. All events in the French Market District must be authorized by the French Market Corporation and processed through the New Orleans One-Stop Office for permitting.

Filming and Photography in the French Market District

Please complete the digital Commercial Filming and Photography Application. Upon receipt of your completed application our event team will contact you within (7) business days. Film and photography shoots must be booked no less than 15 days in advance.

The French Market Corporation works in tandem with the Office of Cultural Economy to ensure events and film productions are properly permitted.


One-Time Group Performances

The French Market is accepting applications for one-time group performances.

For one-time group performances (school bands, church choirs, etc.), please fill out the digital French Market Group Performance Application. Once the application has been received, you will be contacted to discuss the details of your groups performance.  Please review the City of New Orleans Noise Ordinance that your group must comply with.


Non-Musical Performance Program

  • Non-musical performance is a presentation by any group with more than one member that does not involve live music
  • This application is specific to use of Oscar Dunn Park
  • This application does not apply to one-time group performance by school or civic choirs and/or bands
