Filming and Photography Application – French Market District

FILMING IN THE FRENCH MARKET DISTRICT

Thank you for your interest in filming/photography in the historic French Market District. The French Market District is a working business district, which means that to the greatest extent possible, filming must not in any way interfere with Market business, traffic, or the public’s enjoyment of the French Market. There are several locations within the historic French Market District that we offer for film productions and still photography shoots that capture the essence of the French Quarter and New Orleans.

Film and photography shoots must be booked no less than 15 days in advance.

All filming & photography on French Market property must be approved by the French Market Corporation and the City of New Orleans (if applicable).

Location fees vary based on the size, scope, and impact of your production. All fees are to be paid in advance of filming. Rates and fees are subject to change. All applications will be charged a $50 processing fee in addition to location fees.

The following must be submitted prior to filming/photography date:
– Certificate of Insurance naming French Market Corporation with $1,000,000 limits
– A Copy of the New Orleans Film Office Permit noting French Market Property if applicable
– Completed French Market Corporation Location Agreement if applicable

For production/filming periods longer than 48 hours or containing any activity determined to be potentially harmful to French Market property will require a $5,000 damage deposit. This bond will be held and returned once filming is completed and any damage is assessed. A separate check from the filming fee is required for the damage deposit/bond.

Cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to filming/photography date to receive a full refund. Cancellations requested less than 10 days to filming/photography date will be refunded 50% of fees.

If filming individual tenant shops or stalls, separate agreements must be negotiated with each affected business in addition to obtaining overarching permissions from the French Market Corporation.
Please allow 7-10 business days for us to consider your request.
No filming permit will be issued without prior approval from the New Orleans Film Commission; if applicable.
