September 24th: Second Annual Where Y’Hat party for hat lovers & their friends 5-8 p.m. in Dutch Alley.
For this month’s Fridays at the French Market live music series, we celebrate and feature French Market vendors and seasonal hats for men, women, and children with a fashion show, hat vendors, hat crafts, and a contest for best hat design. Hat raffles and live music throughout the night. Featured musicians: Jayna Morgan and Lantana Combo.

These monthly indoor free concerts feature beloved children’s singer/songwriter/author Johnette Downing 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Afterwards, Johnette signs her children’s books at A Tisket A Tasket at 910 Decatur Street, right around the corner. Make a day of it in the French Quarter with your little one! Enjoy a stroll to the Farmers Market, visit The Little Toy Shop, taste handmade confections at one of our four candy shops, walk along the Mississippi River or take the red streetcar. Enjoy the day in our quieter corner of the Quarter.
AFRICAN SUNDAYS featuring Kora Konnection
4:00-7:00 p.m. Second Sunday of each month in Dutch Alley where St. Phillip meets Decatur (riverside). Behind Pop City, near Montrel’s Bistro. These lively 0utdoor monthly music concerts include African drumming, West African Mandinka music, and jazz improvisation. Q&A with musicians and guest artists. Save the Dates! 9/12, 10/10, 11/14, 12/12.

Saturday October 23rd 12 noon to 7 p.m. Second Annual Boo Carre Halloween and Harvest Festival at the French Market: A family friendly daytime French Quarter event held one week before Halloween.
12-8:00 p.m. Trick or treating, pumpkin carving, costumed characters, live music, harvest foods and more! Throughout the French Market District, from Dutch Alley to the Farmers Market. Kids in costume get a free Boo Carre trick or treat bag and can go into retail shops for treats as well as special trick or treat booths in Dutch Alley and the Farmers Market.
6:00 p.m. Pumpkin procession from Farmers Market to Washington Artillery Park.
6:30 p.m. Lighting of pumpkins on the steps of Washington Artillery Park (across from Jackson Square).
6:30-7:30 p.m. Live music at Washington Artillery Park.
7:30 p.m. Costume contest winners announced & prizes awarded.
Come to the French Market and pick out your pumpkin with the whole family! Enjoy pumpkin carving demos, pumpkin patches, live music, costumed characters and trick or treating for kids in stores, in Dutch Alley and at the Farmers Market. Kids in costume get a free BOO CARRE trick or treat bag. As the sun goes down, walk with us down to Washington Artillery Park (across from Jackson Square) for a magical lighting of the pumpkins and live music.

Thursday November 18th 6 p.m. across from Jackson Square
Washington Artillery Park (across from Jackson Square)
Enjoy classical music, costumed carolers, holiday cocktails and more before the public lighting of our 27 foot fleur-de-lis topped tree at 6 p.m. Afterwards join the Santa Second Line to Dutch Alley for more food, drink and dancing with Cullen Landry and the Midnight Streetcar.

Tuba, Tuba, Tuba! French Market’s Annual Tribute to Tuba Fats.
Friday, November 26th. Over 20 tuba players play throughout the day, throughout the Market 1:00-8:00 p.m. “Fridays at the French Market” from 5-8 p.m. features a celebrity jam with tuba players and fellow musicians at the Farmers Market. Check back for more details as the event nears.
SAINT NICHOLAS DAY FAIR SATURDAY DECEMBER 4TH
12-4 p.m.
Enjoy an afternoon of free kids activities, live music and pictures with Saint Nicholas in Dutch Alley. The annual Christmas parade sponsored by Downtown Development District goes down Canal Street, with a special French Market parade heading down Decatur Street to the French Market. Christmas on Jackson Square is nearby with retail specials, Santa visits and other all-ages treats all day. Park in the French Market parking lot just behind Cafe du Monde and spend the day strolling, eating, dancing, and delighting in the spirit of the season!

FRENCH MARKET’S FIRST ANNUAL “BEIGNETS FOR THE HOLIDAYS”
Dec. 18th 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Enjoy a few hours of sugary fun with Santa and his elves! Participants will receive a scavenger hunt sheet and special shopping bag to explore the French Market after enjoying beignets from the world-famous Cafe du Monde.
