French Market Annual Creole Tomato Festival
June 9th and 10th, 2012 10AM – 6PM
The French Market’s Annual Creole Tomato Festival is around the corner! Enjoy fresh Creole Tomatoes, tomato eating contests, cooking demos, and kids activities from morning till night!
LIVE MUSIC PROGRAMMED BY THE LOUISIANA CAJUN-ZYDECO FESTIVAL
Cajun music on Saturday & Zydeco music on Sunday - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day
Stage located at Ursulines, between Latrobe Park and the French Market arch

FRENCH MARKET DISTRICT SIDEWALK SALE
Friday & Saturday (5/18 & 19)
This weekend, retail stores throughout the French Market District will be having a sidewalk sale, featuring sidewalk tables filled with specialty merchandise from the Shops at the Upper Pontalba to the Shops on the Colonnade along Decatur Street. Street musicians will perform along the colonnade and in Dutch Alley.

French Market Fare - Sundays at 2pm in the Farmers Market.
The French Market and the Southern Food & Beverage Museum team up to host a series of free programs that highlight the cuisine and culinary culture of New Orleans. The series includes cooking demos, food conversations and musical entertainment.
The series is held on the French Market Fare stage in the Farmers Market, between Ursulines and Gov. Nicholls Street.
French Market Fare May Schedule:
May 20th: The New Orleans Greek Festival is just around the corner, so we’ll be testing out some special wines from Santorini, that picturesque white on blue island in the Aegean Sea. Wine expert Sandi Miller will talk about Santorini, the wines and what makes them special, and she’ll fill us in on the inside scoop of the New Orleans Greek Festival.
May 27th: Demonstration from Cafe Carmo
Cafe Carmo is a tropical café built upon the rich, multi-cultural culinary influences found throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America, Gulf South and beyond. The menu features eclectic and traditional/traditionally-inspired dishes with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.

Family Friendly Fridays
Singer/songwriter and award winning children’s author, Johnette Downing presents monthly concerts at the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park in Dutch Alley, with book signings afterwards at A Tisket A Tasket Bookshop. www.johnettedowning.com.

Monthly music series featuring local youth musicians on select Sundays each month through September at The New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park Visitor Center.
June 10 -12:00 noon-1:30pm:: NOCCA Classical Instrumental Music Ensemble.
July 8th -12:00 noon-1:30pm: Uptown Jazz Orchestra. Under the direction of trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, UJO consists of Louisiana native musicians who range in experience from young students to respected veterans. www.delfeayomarsalis.com.
August 12th -12:00 noon-1:30pm: The Greater New Orleans Suzuki Forum, founded in 1978 by violinist Mrs. Doris Hansen to support and promote the suzuki teaching method in the Greater New Orleans Area. The Forum represents families with children studying the bass, cello, flute, guitar, harp, piano, viola, and violin.
September 9 -12:00 noon-1:30pm: NOCCA Musical Theatre Revue.
