Meet historical characters from Louisiana History Alive in the open-air farmers market at the French Market every Friday in December for 30 minutes of caroling! Join in and sing along, take photos, and talk directly to these living history characters:

Adelina Patti, famous opera singer from the 1800’s when New Orleans was considered the Opera Capital of North America;

Lola Montez, famed dancer and german countess who performed in New Orleans, known for her “sensational” one woman show;

Jules Lyon, first Black photographer specializing in the daguerrotype before the Civil War, emigrated from France a Free Man of Color;

George Devol, riverboat gambler, Mississippi River expert, who did not discriminate; soldiers, slaves, land owners – no matter who you were, he’d take your money at cards!
