SATURDAY JULY 13th: BASTILLE DAY FETE
The French Market plays host to Francophile fun all weekend in partnership with local French organizations. On Saturday at 9 a.m., enjoy a French dog contest in Dutch Alley followed by a pup parade to Washington Artillery Park across from Jackson Square. At 2 p.m., take a complimentary French Quarter walking tour that begins at the French Market and ends at the Old U.S. Mint where the Bastille Day Fete (French music, food, and drinks) will take place from 3-8 p.m.
SUNDAY JULY 14TH: BASTILLE DAY FETE
On Bastille Day itself, mingle with locals and French citizens all day at the French Market, starting with the 10:30 a.m. annual wreath laying ceremony hosted by the French Consulate General of New Orleans, at the Joan of Arc statue at New Place de France. At 11:30 a.m., the festivities begin at the Farmers Market, culminating in our annual BARTENDER & WAITERS RACE:
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Live French music with accordionist Norbert Slama
1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Cocktail demonstration with Sazerac
1:30 to 1:45 p.m. French trivia contest with Alliance Francaise
2:00 to 2:45 French cooking demo with Purloo, hosted by Southern Food & Beverage Museum
2:45 to 3:45 Live French music continues with Norbert Slama
4:00 Bartenders Race 4:15 Waiters Race
4:30 Awards Ceremony
