Private Event Rentals
NOTE: As of February 1, 2013: The Farmers and Flea Market Pavilions are available for rent from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., with access allotted at 6 p.m. for setup, and clean up allotted until 4 a.m. Events must end by 1 a.m. No access is allowed before 6 p.m. and all of the event decorations, equipment, and rentals must be removed by 4 a.m. the following day to allow for French Market Corporation to clean and clear the area for 7 a.m. arrival of vendors. NO EXCEPTIONS. The rate is $3500. Effective February 1, 2013. Event must be confirmed 90 days prior for this rental due to notice required to vendors.
Various indoor/outdoor French Market properties are available for weddings, fundraisers, corporate receptions, and private parties. As each private event is unique, we request that you fill out an application to begin the process. Download and complete the French Market Event Application then email the application to Jeremy Smith. Upon receipt of your completed application, he will contact you to set up an appointment for a site tour.
One-time Group Performances
For one-time group performances (school bands, church choirs, etc.), please fill out the French Market Group Performance Application and email it to Jeremy Smith. Once the application has been received, you will be contacted to discuss the details of your groups performance. Please review the City of New Orleans Noise Ordinance that your group must comply with.
Performer / Busker Permits
** Street performer registrations are available on a first come, first serve basis Fridays from 12 – 4pm ONLY.
The Performer (Busking) registration allows performances anywhere throughout the French Market District on a regular first come first serve basis. Performers must download and fill out the French Market Ongoing Performer (Busking) Application & Rules and then email it to Jeremy Smith. Please review the City of New Orleans Noise Ordinance that your group must comply with.
Community Donation Request Form
The French Market Corporation is proud to be an integral part of our community. Download and complete the Community Donation Request Form then email the application to Jeremy Smith. Upon receipt of your completed application, he will process our request.
Cooking Demonstrations
Our new French Market Fare Stage is the perfect place for cooking demonstrations. We offer use of a professional cooking demonstration table and can provide audio/speaker set up. Fill out the French Market Fare Stage Request Form then email it to Jeremy Smith. Once the application has been received a demonstration can be scheduled.
Filming at the French Market
The French Market is a hot spot for television, movie, and documentary film making. We request that production companies allot at least 30 days notice for any of the above, as most projects first require City of New Orleans permission BEFORE the French Market Corporation can offer our properties for filming. Download and complete the French Market Filming Guidelines and Permit Application and email it to Jeremy Smith. Upon receipt of your completed application, he will contact you to discuss your project. Please review the City of New Orleans Noise Ordinance that your crew must comply with.
****Please note—the French Market Corporation works hand in hand with the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy regarding film and special event permitting. We cannot solely give permission for certain special event and film projects, depending on timeframe, scope, and community impact.****
